SEW-Eurodrive is able to provide greater value-added services to its client base, after the company’s Drive Academy officially achieved ECSA recognised CPD credits for two training courses in April 2014. The latest breakthrough is its two CPD credits awarded by the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering for its Maintenance and Repair of Geared Motors and Braking Systems course, as well as its three CPD credits awarded by the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers for its Movidrive B course.
General manager for communications, Rene Rose says, “This latest accreditation is evidence of our commitment to maintaining service delivery excellence to our local customer base in terms of product offering, as well as after-sales service and technical support.” Both courses are hosted on a monthly basis at the Johannesburg-based Drive Academy. However, employee training can be held onsite at a customer’s premises if requested. Rose continues, “The idea is that the customer gains optimum knowledge about the products to ensure that they are able to use it to its full efficiency, while being able to troubleshoot the product themselves in the case of a breakdown. This translates to minimal losses in productivity and earnings by reducing downtime for the customer.”
Since its official establishment in South Africa in 2011, more than 500 customers have received product specific and general training related to drive engineering from 17 predefined and tailor-made courses offered by the Drive Academy training facility.
