Tectra Automation has brought the new Bosch Rexroth EMC-HD electromechanical cylinders with ball or planetary roller screw drive to the South African market. The planetary screw drive is designed for high power density and long service life, and the ball screw drive for high dynamics and non-complicated operation. These electromechanical heavy-duty cylinders transmit motor movement via ball or planetary screw drives, depending on the dynamics and force requirements.
The EMC-HD cylinder is a complete turnkey system for quick and functionally reliable installation and fast startup. Designed for use in harsh environments and for space-saving integration in machine concepts, they are simple, compact and robust. A screw assembly converts rotary toque into linear motion with high efficiency, while the rotation of the spindle enables the in/out piston rod movement via the screw nut. The use of precision screw assemblies allows for precise positioning, high dynamics, powerful drive and a long service life.
These cylinders have a dynamic load rating (Cdyn) up to 211 kN and axial force up to 110 kN. With an integrated anti-rotation device as an option, their maximum traversing speed is standard at 1 m/s and a maximum stroke up to 1200 mm. Their protection type category is IP65 and a wide range of mounting elements is available with switches and force sensors as optional extras. They are available as a complete system with precisely matching transmissions, servo motors and drive controllers.
