Energy management specialist, Schneider Electric, is the sole sponsor of the prestigious Paris Marathon. The company believes that just as runners consider their own efficiency and energy consumption, Schneider can help people and organisations make the most of their energy. With the theme ‘Life Is On’, Schneider again invited editors from all over the world to a press day where its latest innovations were showcased and the media was given an insight into its strategic direction. For those editors who happen to be runners, the cherry on the top was the opportunity to run this world-class marathon.

Schneider South Africa also invited the lucky draw winner from the Experience Efficiency expo held in August 2014, and sponsored the two winners of the Soweto Marathon held in November 2014, Meseret Biru and Sintayehu Legeae Yinesu from Ethopia. A huge highlight was that Meseret was the women’s winner in a thrilling finish, with Sintayehu coming in tenth. “We are thrilled with Meseret’s result, and as South Africans we extend our heartfelt congratulations on her incredible feat. Both our runners have made Schneider Electric South Africa, the country and the African continent proud,” says marketing and communications director for South Africa, Ntombi Mhangwani.
