Beckhoff’s IPC portfolio

4th Quarter 2015 News & events

Beckhoff Automation recently held an industrial PC (IPC) and applications seminar for its clients, presented by Roland van Mark, product and marketing manager for industrial PC and Rob Rawlyk, senior application engineer, both from Beckhoff Automation in Germany.

Van Mark gave an overview of Beckhoff’s entire IPC portfolio, emphasising the versatility of the range and its scalability. “We listen to our customers,” he said. “You can choose what components you want based on your performance class.”

Another new development is Beckhoff’s industrialised multitouch displays with customised design, which are available in nine display sizes. These robust displays are priced in line with the market. Beckhoff has already delivered 78 000 of these displays.

Beckhoff’s IPC suite operates on a whole portfolio of Windows operating systems, and Windows 10 will be available by the end of the year. This will avoid the need for the Windows 8 challenge of online registration. “With Windows 10, Beckhoff will have scalability for every kind of application and be truly ready for the Internet of Things,” van Mark added.

Coupled with this is Beckhoff’s CP-Link 4 technology, a one cable technology for separating the control unit from the PC by up to 100 metres. “With CP-Link 4, 15 years of knowledge is concentrated in one cable,” he continued. Rob Rawlyk then described some of the interesting and challenging applications that Beckhoff has developed over the years in partnership with its long-term customers.
