Founded in 1915, the company now has an annual turnover exceeding €3 billion and is a global leader in servo drives, converters, Motoman industrial robots and Vipa control technology. Yaskawa Europe, based in Germany, serves the markets of Europe, Africa, Middle East and the territory of the former Soviet Union.
The well-known term ‘mechatronics’ was actually coined by Yaskawa in 1969 and is a registered trademark. With over 300 000 Motoman industrial robots manufactured, the company is considered to be the number one producer in this segment. Further milestones in Yaskawa’s recent history are the founding of its South African subsidiary in 2012; the acquisition of wind power specialist, The Switch Engineering Cooperation, and a strategic partnership with Argo Medical Technologies, manufacturer of the ReWalk exoskeleton for people with handicaps of the lower extremities.
On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, Yaskawa is launching a new logo. The newly designed lettering symbolises the company’s successful track record in the past and its aspirations for the future – leveraging the flexibility and creativity of its employees to develop solutions for its customers for the next century.
