HFT appointed Fleetguard Super Dealer

2nd Quarter 2016 News & events

Hydraulic fluid specialist, Hytec Fluid Technology (HFT) has been appointed Super Dealer for Cummins Filtration’s range of Fleetguard engine protection products for southern Africa. This collaboration means that HFT now offers complete engine protection in addition to its total hydraulic fluid management offering across the sub-continent.

Coinciding with this collaboration was the recent opening of Cummins Filtration’s filtration and coolant manufacturing plant at its new regional distribution centre for southern Africa in Woodmead, Johannesburg. The site incorporates a component warehousing and local manufacturing facility, which produces Fleetguard fuel and air filters and the Fleetguard Organic Acid Technology (OAT) engine coolant.

“Fleetguard is one of the top two global brands in the international filtration market,” says HFT general manager, Sandor Bottyan. “Cummins Filtration’s manufacturing investment in South Africa, technical skills and stockholding, mean that our collaboration is mutually beneficial.” HFT will market and distribute the entire Fleetguard range, including NanoNet – a recently engineered synthetic fuel filter media designed to extend engine life. Included in the filter distribution range are Cummins’ newly developed NanoForce technology air filters, as well as cellulose media layers for use in conjunction with NanoNet fuel filtration.

In a typical mining vehicle fuel and oil filters are changed every 250 hours, with the air filter changed every 500 hours. Fleetguard filters only need to be changed every 1000 hours. In addition the OAT coolant only needs to be changed during or after midlife rebuild, compared to other coolants that are drained every 4000 to 6000 hours.”
