Inverters with parallel operation feature

3rd Quarter 2016 Electrical switching & drive systems & components

Bonfiglioli’s RPS Endurance inverters are now ready to tango. With the introduction of the new tandem feature, two units operate seamlessly in parallel on a single medium voltage transformer winding. Their performance and ease of handling make them suitable for megawatt scale PV stations. With numerous self-protection functions and grid management options, the RPS Endurance is built to satisfy power control requirements in the fast developing global PV market.

Thanks to the extended power range of the single units of up to 563 kW AC at 50°C ambient temperature, the new features allow the effortless realisation of 1 MW+ tandem configurations with a common AC connection, paired with a best in class 15% permanent overload capacity (up to 648 kW AC) at reduced ambient temperatures.

Designed for maximum productivity in the toughest conditions, the RPS Endurance is a truly compact powerhouse. A unique feature for indoor rated PV inverters is the innovative two-zone ambient protection system, which distinguishes it from other solutions. The intelligent encapsulation design maximises uptime through full IP54 ambient protection. Advanced air cooling technology ensures outstanding reliability and serviceability.

The new RPS Station ICON ND series integrates 2 x 2 inverters into a compact 7 metre container design, achieving an excellent power rating of up to 2,25 MW AC per station. This compactness is paired with a proven and easy to maintain forced air cooling system. ICON ND stations are delivered ready to connect to an external three-winding medium voltage transformer, helping customers to reduce project execution times significantly.
