4th Quarter 2017Electrical switching & drive systems & components
Omron has announced the global release of its new CK3E programmable multi-axis controllers and industrial PC platform NY51-A IPC programmable multi-axis controllers (PMAC). The company worked together with Delta Tau Data Systems (DT) to develop these PMAC controllers using leading edge motion control technology from DT. The PMACs achieve sophisticated fine-tuning control, including high-speed synchronous control of various factory automation devices, thanks to built-in EtherCAT connectivity, which is used on production lines worldwide. Their development environment allows users to program their own motion algorithms and motion control functions such as trajectory calculation and position compensation in C and original programming languages.
Diverse consumer needs and short product life cycles have resulted in a trend toward innovative manufacturing, and the latest precision machining technologies and robotics are being leveraged at production sites worldwide. As a result, builders of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and machine tools are concentrating their resources on the development of innovative and competitive core technologies. Machine builders require globally available controllers where long-term supply stability and quality are guaranteed, and which can be used as alternatives to board controllers where basic functions are costly to develop and maintain. Moreover, manufacturers who develop robotic manufacturing equipment for application in emerging economies expect robust and reliable controllers that can execute customised motion control. Omron’s two PMAC programmable multi-axis controllers meet these needs, bringing innovation to manufacturing sites through automation with integrated, intelligent and interactive systems.
