The Festo Simplified Motion electric drive series combines the simplicity of pneumatics with the advantages of electric automation to ensure that your machines are faster and better connected. It includes Spindle and Toothed Belt Axis ELGS-BS/-TB, Mini Slide Unit EGSS, Toothed Belt Axis Unit ELGE-TB, Electric Cylinder EPCS and Rotary Drive ERMS. The drives offer an integrated drive solution for simple motion tasks and enable operation without any software in accordance with the plug and work principle. The parameters for the advancing and retracting speed, as well as the pressing and clamping force, can be set for path and manual operation.
Thanks to the intuitive, quick and easy commissioning directly on the drive, configuration does not require any software or specific know-how. The motion can be controlled via digital I/O as with a pneumatic valve. End position feedback provides information about the completion of the motion task.
Advanced user functions are provided via IO-Link, including convenient remote control, parameter copy, backup function and read functions for advanced process parameters. IO-Link enables the drives to communicate intelligently from the controllers to the cloud for simple motions as well as easy handling, commissioning and actuation. Products from the Simplified Motion Series contain Digital I/O and IO-Link controllers as standard.
The simplified functionality makes the drives perfect for simple motions between two mechanical end positions. This is without having to sacrifice optimised motion characteristics, gently cushioned advancing and retracting into the end positions, or a simplified pressing and clamping function.
