Next-generation grease pumps

Second Quarter 2026 Other technologies

SKF is dedicated to fighting friction, one of the leading causes of component damage, costly breakdowns and operational unreliability by delivering solutions that improve asset reliability and advance plant sustainability for customers worldwide.

Building on this commitment, SKF has introduced its latest advancement in lubrication technology with the unveiling of a new line of air operated grease pumps. This next-generation range, which comprises three models − LAGG 18AF, LAGG 50AF and LAGG 180AF − combine robust engineering with energy efficient performance, delivering precision and durability in demanding industrial environments.

“Designed for modern industry needs, these innovative grease pumps have been enhanced to assist organisations in optimising maintenance practices while advancing sustainability goals,” says product manager, Eddie Martens. “The efficiency boosting LAGG AF series carries forward the reliability and familiarity of our previous generation AE models, retaining the trusted design features customers have come to value. Now, with a breakthrough performance upgrade, these SKF air operated grease pumps deliver a significantly enhanced flow rate of 1,1 kg/min (2.4 lb/min), ensuring faster, more efficient lubrication cycles, and helping operators reduce downtime, optimise maintenance schedules and achieve greater productivity across demanding industrial applications.”

Encapsulating SKF’s vision of ‘fighting friction to move the world forward’, this updated series offers a host of benefits to customers that safeguard equipment uptime and bolster overall operational sustainability. In addition to delivering high pressure and a significantly increased flow rate for improved lubrication efficiency, the LAGG AF pumps ensure fast, clean and reliable greasing of lubrication points with large grease pack sizes. They are ideally suited for topping up centralised lubrication system reservoirs, and provide superior contamination protection both when stationary and during grease distribution. Martens adds that the grease pumps are easy to install across multiple applications and are fully compatible with all SKF 18,50  and 180 kg grease drums along with most drums of equivalent size standards.

Purpose built for industries working with medium to large grease pack sizes, the versatile LAGG AF pump series is tailored for key sectors such as metals, pulp and paper, mining, mineral processing and cement, and food and beverage. The pumps are built with robust engineering that makes it equally effective for virtually any industrial al application requiring reliable lubrication solutions. Each model is smartly named to correspond with its capacity i.e. LAGG 18AF (18 kg), LAGG 50AF (50 kg) and LAGG 180AF (180 kg), making selection and application straightforward for operators across diverse industrial settings. “To simplify identification, we’ve replaced the traditional AE suffix with AF across the new series,” explains Martens and concludes by noting: “Our trusted hand operated LAGG 18M model remains unchanged and will continue to be offered alongside the LAGG 18AF, LAGG 50AF, and LAGG 180AF pumps as part of our complete product line.”
