Predictive maintenance plays a significant role in managing hydraulic, lubrication and fuel applications more efficiently. Used by equipment manufacturers, hydraulic system designers and maintenance engineers, it results in greater system efficiency and reduced downtime. In the field of fluid contamination monitoring, the laser has become a key component, where OEMs and other users evaluate system cleanliness and filtration effectiveness using condition monitoring equipment, with data-logging of results.
Parker offers a full range of particle counters, moisture sensors and indicators for all oil and fuel applications. Part of this range is the System 20, which is a handheld monitor for analysing flow pressure and temperature. In the near future Parker South Africa will also be able to offer wear debris sensors; oil testing and analysis instrumentation; and acoustic, vibration and gas emission monitoring sensors. Within the next few months the company will have a fully functional service centre and laboratory. This will enable it to service and calibrate condition monitoring equipment locally and will avoid long turnaround times resulting in considerable cost saving.
