Included in the Sun Hydraulics range of valves is the solenoid controlled two-way, two-position, pilot operated, poppet style solenoid valve with reverse free flow check. With a flow rating of 60 to 480 l/min, the solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 350 bar. This high quality cartridge valve is available in normally closed and normally open configurations. It has a wide variety of connectors at various voltages, with and without surge protection. The cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. Due to its poppet style construction, it has an extremely low leakage rate and can hold loads with less than 10 drops per minute leakage at 350 bar.
The valve utilises a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energised for long periods of time. It incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimise the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
The solenoid’s unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting. When combined with Sun’s new explosion-proof coils, the valve can also be used in hazardous environments. The coils are certified to ATEX and CSA standards.
