Valve series with DeviceNet
Third Quarter 2004
Hydraulic systems & components
Norgren, represented in South Africa by sole local agents Ernest Lowe, has now significantly increased the flexibility and functionality of its VP51 range of proportional valves by adding DeviceNet capabilities. The increased capability of providing command sign and feedback pressure via DeviceNet makes the control valve suitable for use in a wide variety of industrial automation applications. VP51 users can now define individual requirements via DeviceNet parameters, setting application specifics for the unit. This simplified set-up results in both time and cost savings.
Process control of flow, force and position is accurate and consistent, making the VP51 suitable for applications such as adhesive dispensing, paper tensioning and laboratory sampling. The series incorporates advanced spool technology, allowing true step-less pressure or flow control.
Response is smooth, quiet and reliable, with the glandless, lightweight, Teflon-coated spool valve technology (tested to 30 million cycles and resistant to wear and corrosion). Suitable for output pressures in the 0 to 1 MPa range, the control valve features low power consumption (<100 mA/2,5 W) and can operate in both dry and lubricated compressed-air environments. Ambient operating temperature range is -5 to 50°C - and the unit benefits from IP65 protection.

Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
