PTO truck pump
First Quarter 2006
Hydraulic systems & components
Commercial Shearing is offering a new range of PGTP gear pumps, which expands its already wide range of hydraulic components dedicated to the demands of the truck crane commercial vehicle market. The new pumps feature small envelope size, allowing simple and inexpensive installation with only minimal piping, while still offering high performance and reliability.
The lightweight PGTP pumps offer high efficiency, and provide an operating pressure of up to 30 MPa, making the pump adaptable for even high demand systems. The bi-rotational pumps are fitted with BSP ports on the rear and side with optional plugging. They feature three and four bolt flanges for small and medium size applications and four bolt for larger applications.
The cast iron casing minimises contamination and ensures the pumps are sufficiently durable to meet the demands of the rugged applications in which they are often used. The simple, two-piece design further improves durability by reducing the potential for leakage. It is also a factor in reducing the weight of the part. The new pumps were thoroughly endurance tested in the field. In the United Kingdom there has been a 36cc unit working for over a year on a Palfinger crane without any problems.
The PTGPs are compact with a carefully selected range of sizes and accessories allowing the design engineer to select the best pump for the job. The range of potential applications is extensive, including recovery, utility, refuse and service vehicles, tippers, aerial platforms, car transporters, sweepers, gritters and snow ploughs. It could also be used in cranes, skip loaders, hook loaders and fire fighting vehicles.

Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
