Electronic control units

Ernest Lowe is the sole local agent for Linde of Germany, which has developed its new generation of electronic control units. Electronic control units have become indispensable components for both open and closed hydraulic circuits due to their improved, user-friendly efficiency, pollutant reduction and economical mode selection.
Linde electronic controls have greatly improved anti-stall characteristics as, unlike previous models featuring hydraulic-mechanical output regulators or load limiters, the new generation of open circuit CEB controls work in conjunction with an electronically controlled power valve on the regulating pump.
Original CED electronic control units have continuously evolved to match changing market requirements and produce excellent results, particularly in Linde forklifts. CEP control units are highly effective in crawler drives.
Linde electronic control units are based on digital microprocessor technology. A CAN-bus interface enables trouble-free integration of the control valves with each vehicle's overall electronic network. CE control units enable electro-hydraulic pump adjustment via an injection pump actuator or electrical adjustment by means of a proportional magnet or servomotor.
On start-up, a teach function monitors and saves stored operating data, including entire power curves. Should this operating data change later on, it can be parameterised with a laptop. This allows fault messages to be directly detected, decreasing malfunction response delays and significantly reducing downtime.
The variety of available modes, behaviour patterns and features, such as fine mode (for precision work), idle running, time ramps for acceleration/deceleration, cruise control and auto-power adaptation temperature monitoring of hydraulic oil and coolant, make operation simpler and less labour intensive.
Construction and harvesting machinery makes harsh demands on components, so each individual control unit is subject to stringent quality testing and selection procedures. Visual inspections, IC testing, check-sum and run-in tests are conducted during production. A 100% visual inspection takes place once components have been placed on the printed circuit board and after soldering (SMD technology).
To ensure safe, trouble-free operation to Linde standards, control units are protected against dust and heat and are both shake and splash proof. All connectors are waterproof and each connecting line is individually sealed when plugged in. Circuit boards are contained in a robust metal housing with an O-ring seal and pressure compensation diaphragm to comply with EMC regulations. A comprehensive range of compatible peripheral devices such as sensors, potentiometers, joysticks and accelerator pedals completes the CE electronic control unit series.
