Proportional valve incorporates flow-sharing
Second Quarter 2007
Hydraulic systems & components
Sauer-Danfoss has launched the PVG 100 flow-sharing proportional valve in South Africa. This valve has been designed as a smart valve, to electronically interface with mobile machinery and utilises proven, common hardware with other models in the company's proportional valve series. This commonality coupled with the modular design of the valve means that valve groups consisting of various sizes of PVG valves can be easily configured to customer requirements.
Uses for this hydraulic load-sensing valve can be from simple directional valve applications to advanced electro hydraulic controlled load independent proportional valve installations.
Effective working pressures for PVG 100 are up to 350 bar (5076 psi); compensated flow to 180 lpm (48 gpm) with return flows up to 360 lpm (95 gpm) and the incorporated load-sensing technology results in less wear and tear on other hydraulic components in the circuits.
A CAN-bus interface option is available for applications in which the device is incorporated in complex control systems enabling the possibilities of implementing intelligent control functions (ramp, adjustable flow limiting, dead band compensation, etc.)
Sauer-Danfoss' Ron Sheehan added: "Integrated valves contribute to overall mobile machine. Providing flow-sharing ability with commonality of components across the PVG series allows manufacturer to meet vehicle system requirements while achieving time-to-market deadlines."

Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
