Every moment of downtime creates wear and tear on users' peace of mind. Protecting against downtime is a constant battle between maintenance efforts and the reality of equipment operation. Every hydraulic system has suspended particles in the fluid. Whether introduced from outside the system or resulting from the movement of metal parts within, these particles reduce the effectiveness of lubricant and hydraulic fluid.

Contaminants grind and wear at the surfaces of moving parts, introducing even more particles into the system. Donaldson claims that these contaminants cause more than 70% of all hydraulic system downtime. The Donaldson Triboguard filter has been designed to combat this downtime. Using an advanced pleat-pack design, the new filter removes particles and contaminants from hydraulic fluid during every system cycle - helping to keep equipment running day after day.

The advanced polymer pack design of the new filter uses a coreless technology and state-of-the-art ultrasonic seam bonding to provide superior performance in demanding applications and significantly reduces contamination. When it comes to filter replacement, the new filter drains rapidly for reduced disposal weight and less fluid loss.

Design features

Triboguard filters feature an advanced pleat pack design that provides premium protection in your system. Referring to the figure:

1. Protective outer wrap

* Protects pleats from damage caused by handling.

* Maintains uniform pleat spacing.

* Preserves even flow of fluid into the filter.

2. Polymer support mesh

* Improves initial cleanliness.

* Provides excellent pleat tip support.

* Retains strength during pressure surges.

* Protects against media damage during manufacturing.

3. Flow control layers

* Increase dirt holding capacity.

* Reduce pressure drop.

* Provide even pleat spacing.

* Protect the media during pleating.

4. Synteq media

* Donaldson's synthetic filter media is specially developed for fluid filtration.

* High efficiency media grades with performance to b<4(c)=1000 (per ISO 16889).

* Low flow resistance.

* Consistent performance throughout the life of the filter.
