Air hoists operate quietly

First Quarter 2008 Pneumatic systems & components

A major concern for workers exposed to high level noise over extended periods of time in their working environment is noise-induced hearing loss. The Bellambie lightweight, high-speed air hoists are fitted with silencers to suppress the noise caused largely by compressed air blowing from the machine.

One of the features of this range is speed of operation: the locally manufactured 3000 kg hoist lifts loads at 3,5 m per minute.

The air hoists, with capacities from 500 kg to 25 t, have a low air consumption level. The hoists are either pendant or cord controlled with fine feathering movement. The optimal air pressure is 600 kPa and minimal maintenance is required.

Imported units have a built in load limiter for greater control and optimum safety. When a load exceeds the rated capacity of the hoist, lifting stops immediately and the load can be safely lowered.

To enhance this range, air powered trolleys facilitate easy and smooth movement. They are fully adjustable for different beam applications. For quiet operation, motors are fitted with sound dampers and, as an added safety feature, an automatic brake is standard.

This range conforms to stringent international quality and safety specifications and a full repair, test and advisory service is offered.
