BMG’s specialist technical resources division (TRD), which was launched recently as part of the company’s re-brand and consolidation programme, provides and supports total process solutions across the entire BMG product range.
“The company’s new technical resources division is committed to enhancing process plant operating reliability in every industrial sector,” says Dave Russell, group technical director. “Specialist services include technical applications consulting, product and system design, on-site process analysis, lab and on-site oil analysis, product quality control and assurance, as well as condition monitoring services.
“BMG strives to provide services which positively influence a company’s operating efficiencies, by ensuring maximised mechanical reliability of plant and machinery. Starting with the initial design concept and running through the specification, manufacturing quality control, commissioning and after-care of the equipment in use, technical resources partners each customer to ensure dependable solutions.”
Applications design
The group’s national applications design capability, which is the nucleus of the TRD, includes upgrading and improving a machine’s performance; selecting the appropriate methods to optimise energy consumption and the redesign of systems using the portfolio of BMG components.
A team of experts enhances the efficiencies of electro-mechanical drive systems, hydraulic systems, vibratory screening and feeding, as well as fabrications. Innovative designs are offered for specialised bearing housings and special products – all within the specifications of stringent international and local product control standards.
TRD provides a technical applications consulting service, which encompasses application assessments, product solution proposals, failure analysis and competitive product comparisons. The company also has well-equipped product test facilities.
On-site services, like product commissioning, conveyor belt splicing, product maintenance inspections and troubleshooting, are enhanced by large bearing and gear fitting.
The division offers predictive maintenance services of condition monitoring and oil analysis as part of the company’s efficiency drive. The specialist oil analysis service consists of laboratory based sampling and analysis, as well as on site analysis and filtration and flushing.
The technical resources division offers an engineered product, inspection and testing service, which ensures components adhere to appropriate specifications and standards. It also manages component supply and assembly for projects throughout southern Africa.
Ed’s note: If you are wondering about the title, RAM-D is a military term – reliability, availability, maintainability and durability.
