Hydraulic systems & components
Honingcraft is one of the biggest suppliers of hydraulic cylinder tube, chrome shafts and cast iron tubes in South Africa. The company also offers a chroming, grinding, honing and machining service to all parties involved in the hydraulic cylinder manufacturing process. Cylinders come in diameters from 30 mm up to 10 m in honed and pre-honed conditions. The company’s speciality is special cylinder tubes to suit individual customer needs. Non-standard sizes are made up to the customer’s requirements.
The company also specialises in honing, a bore-sizing and finishing technique that is used in the manufacture and repair of hydraulic cylinder tube. Small amounts of material are removed, and the cylindricality and surface finish tolerances of the cylinder are improved. Typically this is done on inside diameters such as hydraulic cylinder barrels to provide a better surface for the piston. Honingcraft can hone barrels of 5 mm to 1000 mm inside diameter with a maximum length of 20 m.
Honingcraft also boasts one of the largest hard chrome plants in Africa and can undertake chroming and grinding for the repair of hydraulic shafts from 30 mm to 800 mm in diameter with lengths up to 10 m. Chroming services include flashchrome, grind chrome grind, grind flash polish, hardchrome grind, hardchrome only, repair flash polish, strip rechrome polish, strip repair double flash and strip repair rechrome.

Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
