Hire a dryer

2nd Quarter 2011 Pneumatic systems & components

Compressed air users faced with an air dryer failure now have a cost-effective solution.

A large fleet of high capacity refrigeration air dryers with capacities from 1 to 110 m³/min is available from Artic Driers at short notice and competitive rates for medium- and long-term hire.

Previously clients facing this problem could only hire small capacity chemical dryers from a traditional hire fleet service provider. This often meant hiring four or five smaller units and suffering the purge air wastage associated with chemical adsorption air drying, as well as the cost of paying per shift hire rates. This solution is expensive, not only in compressed air purge wastage, but also in hire fees.

Solve urgent air quality problems

Artic Driers has the ability to provide medium and large capacity refrigeration air dryers to solve urgent air quality problems. “With a rental unit in place, clients can plan a long-term air treatment strategy without the risk of contaminated air infecting their airlines,” says Allen Cockfield, CEO of Artic Driers International.

The system is geared towards long-term hire for clients operating standard stationary compressor sets and located within a radius of 300 kilometres of Johannesburg. Hire periods are generally a month or more.

Rebates applied

Rates are competitive and are based on 24/7 usage. In the event of a client deciding to purchase a new dryer from Artic, a hire rental rebate system is applied. This further reduces the financial impact of a catastrophic air dryer failure and allows for an orderly approval of capital purchase funds and reallocation of budgets to provide for purchase of a new dryer.

Peace of mind

Service crews maintain the hire units and perform onsite inspections, thereby ensuring constant dryer uptime. Artic is also able to provide mobile dew point monitors with data logging facilities. This gives the clients the peace of mind that air quality is being constantly monitored and maintained. Should a fault occur, an alarm signal is transmitted to the client and to Artic simultaneously.

Specialised applications

A small fleet of large capacity heatless adsorption dryers is also available for clients requiring very low dew point air for specialised applications. Artic routinely stocks the PSK range of heatless adsorption dryers with capacities up to 10 m³/min and with a -40°C capability. Larger units are available on receipt of a firm client order. All PSK units are manufactured to ASME codes and are SANS 347 approved.

Service and air audits

Artic also maintains a fulltime aftercare service department with a fully equipped workshop. The company’s compressed air audit department provides information to clients on flow, pressure, velocity, dew point, as well as power. Leak detection surveys can also be undertaken.

Full range of air treatment products

Started in 1991, Artic Driers International is a specialist compressed air treatment equipment provider with a proven history in South Africa. The company is the African distributor for the full range of air treatment products manufactured by SPX Dehydration of South Korea, BEA Technology filtration products, CS Instruments compressed air for monitoring equipment, Sepura oily water condensate separators, and Allied Witan silencers and mufflers.
