Most hydraulic hose assemblies eventually become worn due to friction or chaffing. A Spiral Guard wrapped around the assembly can increase its life by up to 300%.
Previously imported, the PVC Spiral Guard is now produced in South Africa for Genflex Hydraulics and is selling extremely well at a competitive price in boxes of 20 metres. It can be cut to the required size, leaving the remainder securely covered in easy to store packaging.
The Spiral Guard has benefits for manufacturers of hydraulic equipment, transporters, earth moving machinery and other manufacturers. They can have it fitted as an extra precaution against chaffing.
Bruce Garner, managing director of Genflex Hydraulics, said, “Now that Spiral Guard is being produced locally, the additional cost for inclusion with hydraulic hose assemblies is negligible.” Delivery is ex factory. The Spiral Guard is available in sizes from 16 mm to 110 mm inside diameter. The standard colour is currently black, but other colours can be manufactured upon request.
