Hydraulic motors for tree cropping

Commercial Shearing specialises in the manufacture and assembly of hydraulic systems, gear pumps, piston pumps, control valves and motors for mobile applications. Products are used on machines and systems in the fields of agriculture, mining and earth moving. Major local OEM clients include companies involved in the manufacture of mining, and systems are also supplied directly to end users.
Commercial Shearing’s gear pumps and motors are an ideal power source for the machinery industry and the company is able to develop new products for local OEMs according to their exact specification. One such example is the supply of hydraulic motors for fruit tree cropping machines. Each machine has four motors. The motor is fitted to an articulating arm and has an outboard bearing to support the saw blade, which is fitted directly to the motor output shaft.
A feature of the motors is that they come with cross port relief and they have anti-cavitation check valves in the case drain passages. Motors with this configuration are suitable for open circuit applications with closed centre valves and hydrostatic transmission drives. When the motor and load are stopped with the relief valve, the anti-cavitation checks allow internal leakage to be returned to the inlet side of the motor.
The motors have a displacement of 31 cc/rev and a maximum speed of 2100 rpm. They have a continuous pressure of 170 bar and an intermittent pressure of 180 bar. Commercial Shearing has a comprehensive pump and motor test area and individually tests all products at its Jet Park, Johannesburg workshop before shipping.

Hydraulic systems & components
Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
