HYDAC's hydraulic solutions

4th Quarter 2012 Hydraulic systems & components

Based in Edenvale, Johannesburg, HYDAC Technology is the exclusive importer of HYDAC’s hydraulic product range into South Africa. HYDAC specialises in application specific solutions for hydraulic and lubrication systems.

Fluid properties have a big influence on the functionality of hydraulic and lubrication systems. For optimum performance, they require effective contamination control and optimal operating temperatures. HYDAC’s filtration and cooling systems are suitable for industrial, mobile, marine and many other environments.

The 2400 m² R&D centre at HYDAC’s Fluid Care Centre in Sulzbach, Germany is equipped with a state-of-the-art laboratory and testing equipment which can conduct filter performance tests and fluid analysis. Any application situation can be simulated and fluid management technologies are developed to keep pace with the new generation of environmentally friendly, fire resistant hydraulic fluids that offer even higher performance in conditions ranging from tropical to polar.

Some of the patented solutions HYDAC is offering the industry include filter technologies like Statfree, which prevents electrostatic discharges when using non-conductive fluid, and the ion exchange system IXU, which reconditions ester-type fluids.

In addition to the removal of solid contaminants from oils in hydraulic systems, HYDAC offers unique solutions such as the Transformer Care Unit, which is used to remove gases, water and solid contaminants from oil in large transformers; and the Oxistop continuously extracts air from a hydraulic system, resulting in extended fluid life and a drastic reduction in the oil volume within the system.

All fluid management technologies are complemented with instrumentation to measure water, particles and other contaminants.
