Hydraulic winches
2nd Quarter 2014
Hydraulic systems & components
Becker Mining South Africa’s range of hydraulic winches, known for unique safety, precision and nimble features, complements the manual range of Tirfor handheld machines, which are ideally suited for lifting or pulling heavy loads.
“As one man can control several machines simultaneously, manpower requirements are reduced and because of continuous activity, time savings are guaranteed and operator fatigue is eliminated,” says Charlotte Megannon, product manager for Becker Mining South Africa. “This unit also offers increased safety and greater precision of operation because of the easy to operate flow control valves.”
The Tirfor hydraulic system includes an hydraulic power pack which allows remote operation – individually or simultaneously – of one, two or four machines. The TU 16H unit has a capacity of 1600 kg and the TU 32H unit has a capacity of 3200 kg. These machines are fitted with a self-reciprocating hydraulic arm.
The rectilinear motion of these winches enables operation in any direction – horizontal, vertical or angled – and for any height of lift or length of pull. The Tirfor is enhanced by a separate, unlimited wire rope, which has been specially developed to suit this machine.
Safe operation is ensured by the unique design of U-shaped jaws which fit around wire rope to hold the load, a self-sustaining mechanism, an operating lever which remains where it is after movement, and a shear pin that prevents over-loading.
Becker Mining South Africa’s national branch and distributor network provides a full application, test, repair and after-sales service. A complete range of spares and accessories is also available.
