SKF authorised distributor, BSA Nelspruit, recently supplied a SKF TLGB 20 battery operated grease gun to assist a longstanding customer in saving time and money by improving lubrication times and reducing the quantity of grease used.
“When Engen Petroleum approached us for assistance in improving the manual greasing process for one of its Fluidlink clients, we recommended the SKF TLGB 20 grease gun,” says BSA’s Deon de Jongh. He adds that Fluidlink sales engineer, Nico Broodryk has been using the SKF grease gun for several months and is highly impressed, describing the integrated flow meter as ‘pure genius.’
The grease gun is a positive displacement single acting pump that can be used with standard SKF grease cartridges or filled with 500 cm of loose grease. This versatile, robust, high performance DIN 1284 unit has a maximum peak pressure capability of 700 bar and is suitable for lubricating a wide range of applications, including bearings, machines and vehicles. The grease gun is driven by a small, low voltage electric motor connected to a gear transmission. The rotary motion of the motor is converted into a reciprocating motion of the plunger using a yoke mechanism. The TLGB 20 delivers two speed flow rates and can be switched seamlessly from low volume (110 g/min) to high volume (170 g/min).
The successful lubrication solution from BSA Nelspruit has improved the grease application time, while the excellent quality of the grease has improved uptime and extended the equipment life cycle for the end-user.
