At the SAFPA AGM held on 22nd May, Belinda Goddard, head of business development at the Da Vinci Institute, gave an overview of the institute as well as some insight into the proposed business management degree to be aimed specifically at the hydraulics and pneumatics industry. Walter Zimmerman also provided a progress report on the establishment of SAFPA qualifications for hose assemblers.

Bruce Garner has stepped down from the Executive Council while Adrian Buddingh and Wessie van der Westhuizen are now full members. Eugene Tondolo (Axiom Hydraulics) is the new president and Walter Zimmmerman (Hydraulic Training & Consulting) is vice president. The other members of the new committee are: Willem Gijzelaar (Hytec), Manny Vieira (Hydraulic & Pneumatic Hub), Russell Gill (Engineering & Hydraulic Services), Craig Sim (Turnkey Hydraulics), Michael Abbot (CT Hydraulics), Adrian Buddingh (Pneumax) and Pieter van der Westhuizen (Pirtek).
